The Shutdown Timer Remote is an Android companion for The Shutdown Timer on Windows. This policy explains the information processed when you pair and remotely control a computer.
Data we process
The app uses a technical anonymous Firebase identifier. Pairing may send a hashed pairing code, computer name and technical device identifier. Timer state, selected power action and commands are transferred through Firebase Realtime Database. Language, notification preferences and recent timer choices are stored locally.
Ads, consent and analytics
The app contains Google Mobile Ads and uses Google's User Messaging Platform for consent choices. Google services may process advertising identifiers, IP-derived approximate location, app interactions, device information and diagnostics for ads, measurement, security and fraud prevention. Firebase Analytics may process app usage and device information. Privacy options are available in the app settings.
Purpose and legal basis
Pairing and command data is processed to provide the requested remote-control service. Optional notifications are processed at your request. Ads and analytics are handled according to your consent and applicable law.
Sharing and security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS and processed by Google services used as infrastructure, analytics, consent and advertising providers. We do not sell your pairing or timer data. Database rules restrict timer data to the paired anonymous device and desktop identity.
Retention and deletion
Local settings remain until you clear app data or uninstall the app. You can remove a pairing in the app. To request deletion of server-side pairing or command data, email ert.baran@gmail.com with enough information to identify the paired desktop. Do not send a pairing code publicly.
Permissions
Internet access is required. Notification permission is requested only when you enable notifications. The app declares the advertising ID permission for Google Mobile Ads. QR scanning uses Google Code Scanner and the app does not request camera permission.
Children and changes
The app is not directed to children. Material policy changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
